ASGRG: Bienniel General Meeting 2009

Members of the Australasian Society for General Relativity and
Gravitation (ASGRG) are invited to the 2009 Bienniel General
Meeting.
Election of Officers
In accordance with the provisions of the ASGRG constitution, an
election of all
the officer bearers and ordinary members of the ASGRG Committee will
be conducte
d during the General Meeting. The Committee consists of three office
bearers (Pr
esident, Treasurer and Secretary), two ordinary members, and up to two
co-opted
members.
A nomination for any Committee position may be made by any two ASGRG
members who
are entitled to vote in the December 16 election, provided that
- (a) the nominee gives written consent to the nomination;
- (b) the nomination is received by the Returning Officer (see below) by
12 noon on Tuesday 15 December 2009;
- (c) the nominee is an ASGRG member who is entitled to vote at the
December 16 election; and
- (d) if the nomination is for President, Secretary or Treasurer, the
nominee is an Ordinary Member of the ASGRG.
The Returning Officer, who is responsible for the fair conduct of the
election,
will be Leo Brewin of Monash University. Nominations can be forwarded
to him
either by email, or by post, to this address,
to be received
by 12 noon on December 15. If there is more than one nomination for the
position of an
office bearer, or more than two nominations for the positions of
ordinary Committee member, the Returning Officer will hold a secret ballot to
determine the holder(s) of the contested position(s) during the course of the General Meeting.
