Excursion

Unfortunately the weather was a wash out, forcing us to dispense with the scenic drive along Summit Road. After lunch at the Arts Centre, where a few people saw Ernest Rutherford's Den, it was on to the Cashmere Cavern to see the Canterbury Ring Laser. As the group had to divide into two for the Cavern visit owing to the 40 delegates exceeding maxmimum numbers allowed in the Cavern, and since torrential rain prevented a walk in Victoria Park by each non-cavern group, Anneke Wiltshire-a Campo stepped into the breach and served mulled wine in her home, a stone's throw from the Ring Laser. These photos are mostly taken in the Wiltshire's sun room.

Some delegates might not believe it, but two days later there wasn't a cloud in the sky and the same sun room afforded a horizon to horizon view of the snow-covered Southern Alps glistening in all their glory...
